Why Do Cars Need a Clay Treatment?
As mentioned in the Wash & Wax page, dirt and pollution inevitably embed themselves into the paintwork making it virtually impossible to remove with soap and water. Even brand new vehicles accumulate some level of contamination during transportation from factories or even when they sit at the shipping docks and dealership lots. As more and more contaminants bond to the paint, you'll notice the surface will start to feel rough, almost like sand paper! Check out the short 10 second video demonstrating the improvement from the clay treatment (be sure to turn up your volume!)
The accumulation of bonded contaminants not only hinders the shine and clarity of the paintwork, but it also reduces the effectiveness of any protection or maintenance topper that is applied as the "wax" can't properly adhere to the surface.
What Sets Apart Mo's "Clay-Polish-Wax"?
When it comes to claying a vehicle, understanding the process helps one understand the expected results. Anytime a clay mitt or clay bar is used on the surface, even with the slickest soap or clay lubricant, there will be visual signs of abrasion and micro-marring. These fine scratches, in fact, take away the depth and mirror-like shine in the paintwork, especially on darker colored vehicles. That is why I always include a light polishing step that delivers cost-effective results to remove micro-marring while leaving behind a super slick and glossy finish. With Mo's Method, you'll get better results that last. Please advise: the "2-in-1 polish and sealant" only corrects very fine marring and does not remove deeper swirl marks. For those who are particular about swirls marks or desire higher levels of gloss and protection, check out the available Paint Correction & Coating packages.
